CWGA - Orientation - Recruitment - Encouragement
The C.O.R.E. program offers orientation to new members of the Classics Women’s Golf Association (CWGA). It introduces them to CWGA’s weekly events, play formats, and essential tools such as the Foretees and Golf Genius apps. During these sessions, we explore various resources like the Classics Golf Handbook and CWGA website, ensuring new members have answers to all their questions. Our goal is to ensure every CWGA member enjoys a great golfing experience at the Classics and gains a solid foundation through active participation in the C.O.R.E. program. For more information, contact Cheryll Vellek.
The first C.O.R.E. orientation took place Tuesday, Nov.ember 5, 2024. The program’s purpose is to provide information to help a new member feel comfortable and prepared for CWGA’s weekly tournaments and getting to know members of the CWGA. Topics start with an overview of the CWGA and the website. The characteristics of a CWGA/Classics event are discussed such as formats, pairings, handicaps, along with pace of play, marking cards and Golf Genius. Everyone has a chance to get on their phones to work with ForeTees, GHIN and Golf Genius.
The attendees were Jill Cutter, Sandy Fitzgerald, Becky Primavera, Martha Rehm, Gabby Woodruff, Kelly Gerlach, Robin McDowell and Mary Weislak.
The next C.O.R.E. orientation/workshop will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, 9:00-10:30 a.m.
