Chairpersons

Birdies or Better - Cathy Oddo

All CWGA members are compensated in cash for every birdie or better you make and record during a CWGA event.  Monies are distributed at the Closing Day event.

  • This can build to a substantial amount, so you want to be sure you are accurate in recording your birdies or better.  This year, a "Birdie Binder" will be introduced making it easier for all to make note of their birdie, eagle or hole in one following play.  Simply record your name, date, hole number, and have someone from your group attest your birdie or better.   The new "Birdie Binder" will be in the locker room or circulating in the dining room immediately following play.
  • To avoid any misunderstandings, a birdie is one under par on any hole.  A birdie can only be recorded if it is a natural birdie. That means, if you are playing in a scramble, it must be your drive, your approach shot(s) and your putt for it to be counted as a birdie or better.

Chip-ins - Roe Tamagni and Gail Kullman

  • Chip-ins are any shot that is made from off the green that goes in the hole.  If you wish to participate in the chip-in pool you must forward your check for $20 to our treasurer, prior to the established deadline on the current registration form.
  • Chip-Ins must be recorded on the date of play only. The Chip-Binder will be located in the lady's locker room or circulating in the dining room immediately after play is completed. To record your chip-in, record your name and the hole(s) where you had a chip-in.
  • Winnings for chip-in(s) will be paid on Closing Day!
  • Remember, you don't have to be a long ball hitter to have a chip-in!

Ringer Program -Monica Arcana

  • The CWGA Ringer Program is a multi-round tournament where players try to improve their scores on each hole throughout the season.
  • If you wish to participate you must forward your check for $10 to our treasurer, prior to the established deadline on the current registration form.
  • Winners will be announced and paid on Closing Day!

Inter-club Captain - Audrey Robinson - Vice Captain - Sandy Woodfall

The CWGA is a member of the Women's Inter-club League of Collier County (WILCC) and participates in their league play each year.   Inter-club events are open to all paid members of the CWGA.  Handicaps are limited to 32.  It is important to note that Inter-club is NOT just for low handicaps; we need a good mix of handicaps to balance out our team.  The weekly team consists of 8 players and 2 subs who are selected by the captain.  The format is match play with a partner.  Our home matches are played from the combo tees.

The dates for the matches will be posted in the ladies' locker room as soon as the schedule is announced.

Divisions are decided each year by a blind draw and there are usually five clubs in each division.  Play will consist of two home matches and three away matches.

Please consider joining this group of women for some competitive, fun golf!

Handicap - Mary Jo Benedetti

The Handicap Committee plays a key role in administering the Rules of Handicapping at the local level. It is ultimately their responsibility (with support from the pro shop to ensure that each player's Handicap Index continues to reflect their demonstrated ability.  To achieve this, the Handicap Committee conducts a handicap reviews throughout the season.

When conducting a handicap review, the Handicap Committee will utilize GHIN to monitor postings and consider items such as:
